The Institute for Biomedical Ethics at the University of Basel welcomes you to the 16th World Congress of Bioethics (WCB). The congress will take place as a hybrid congress (in-person or virtual presence) from 20th to the 22nd of July 2022 in Basel. The congress chairs are PD Dr. Tenzin Wangmo and Prof. Bernice S. Elger.

During the three days, we seek to bring forth fruitful and exciting discussions on cutting-edge topics in bioethics and important bioethical topics that continue to challenge us. Our congress theme thus is “Bioethics post Covid-19: Responsibility and transparency in a globalized and interconnected world”.

In addition to hosting and organizing the WCB, the IBMB is also supporting the congress of the Feminist Approaches to Bioethics (FAB) that will take place on the 18th and 19th of July 2022 in Basel. The chair of FAB is Prof. Jackie Leach Scully from the University of New South Wales in Australia.
