Expertise/ Research field: Roberto Andorno is a legal scholar who has specialized in issues at the intersection of bioethics and human rights. He teaches Biolaw as a ‘Privatidozent’ at the School of Law of the University of Zurich and conducts research at the Institute of Biomedical Ethics of that same University.
Main Publications: Dr. Andorno’s publications include Principles of international biolaw (Brussels, Bruylant, 2013), Bioética y dignidad de la persona (Madrid, Tecnos, 2012), Ethics and Law of Intellectual Property. Current Problems in Politics, Science and Technology (with others, Ashgate, 2007), and La distinction juridique entre les personnes et les choses à l’épreuve des procréations artificielles (Paris, L.G.D.J., 1996).
Awards / Memberships: Roberto Andorno received a doctoral degree in law at the University of Buenos Aires and a second doctoral degree in law at the University of Paris-Est Créteil, both on topics related to assisted reproductive technologies. He served as a member of UNESCO International Bioethics Committee (1998-2005) and as President of the European Society for Philosophy of Medicine and Healthcare (ESPMH) (2014- 2016).
