Expertise/research field:
Marco De Pascali Pepe is a doctoral researcher in biomedical ethics, specialized in global, public and environmental health. His career so far has been focusing on a variety of topics concerning bioethics with focuses on animal health and welfare, new plant breeding technologies, medical ethics and the legal aspects revolving these subjects.
In 2024 he graduate from the Law faculty of the University of Milano Bicocca (Italy) with a Master’s Thesis on the evolution of the ethical and juridical reflection of animal rights. During the years of his university studies, Marco has been involved in many activities and opportunities related to bioethics, conducting research in top tier establishments such as the Institute for Biomedical Ethics at the University of Basel (CH) and Stiftung für das Tier im Recht in Zürich (CH). He also took part actively to several conferences on a variety of topics concerning biomedical and animal ethics between Italy, Switzerland and Albania.
Station of work:
Marco is currently working on an SNSF funded project concerning the legal and ethical aspect revolving around the topic of New Plant Breeding technologies in the Swiss context as well as internationally in a social science perspective.
