George Kouvas holds a Diploma in Electrical & Computer Engineering and an MBA from the National Technical University of Athens. He is a seasoned technology manager with expertise in Medical Devices, Neurotechnology, Life Sciences, and IT. Over the course of his career, George has brought complex systems to market, including innovative medical devices, digital health services, and eCommerce platforms.

Currently, George works as a Technology Advisor and serves as an Expert Evaluator for the European Commission. He is also the co-founder of Epios SA, a Swiss start-up in Neurotechnology. Previously, he held the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at the Wyss Center for Bio and Neuroengineering in Geneva. Prior to that, he served as Director in the Medical Devices Business at Merck.

An inventor of several patents and an author of scientific papers and book chapters published in international journals, George is deeply involved in cutting-edge research.

At the Institute for Biomedical Ethics, he is currently working on a project in Neuroethics.
