Carolina M. Barbosa is a doctoral student at the Institute for Biomedical Ethics at the University of Basel. She holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s Degree in Clinical and Health Psychology from Universidade Portucalense, where she graduated with academic excellence recognition.

Before joining the IBMB, she was a visiting researcher at Philipps-Universität Marburg in Germany, and previously collaborated with the Department of Bioethics at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto. Her research output includes several peer-reviewed publications in international scientific journals.

Her research interests focus on biomedical ethics, clinical decision-making, and advanced quantitative methodologies such as network analysis. She is passionate about integrating rigorous clinical research with ethical frameworks to improve healthcare outcomes, with a particular focus on vulnerable populations.
