CV of Eva De Clercq
Dr Eva De Clercq is a senior researcher in philosophy and biomedical ethics. She obtained her PhD in philosophy at the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium) and The University of Pisa (Italy) in 2010. She has a master in social and cultural anthropology of the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium) and a master in cultural communication of the University of Florence (Italy). Her main research interests are: Palliative care, adolescent and young adult healthcare; vulnerable populations; Gender and sexual health related issues.
Dr De Clercq has extensive teaching experience in international settings. She teaches courses in ethics, bioethics, philosophy and gender studies to Swiss and international students from both STEM and the humanities, both BA, MA and on the PhD level. In June 2021, She was nominated for the Teaching Excellence Awards 2021 of the University of Basel (category: modern scholarship).
Dr De Clercq has published in numerous peer-reviewed international journals in the field of bioethics, medicine and philosophy. She has published her PhD thesis “The Seduction of the Female Body” for the Academic Publisher Palgrave Macmillan in 2013.
