CV of Andrea Martani
Expertise/research field: Andrea is a PhD candidate in biomedical ethics. His university career so far has been focused on studying the relationship between Law and life sciences and the impact of legislation on the organisation of the healthcare system and the delivery of healthcare services. In 2018 he graduated in European and Transnational Comparative Law from the University of Trento (Italy) with a Master’s Thesis analysing the legal and ethical issues raised by the provision of experimental treatment to terminally-ill patients. Over the years he has gained international experience by studying at the School of Law of the University of Reading (UK) for three terms and at the Center for Biomedical Ethics and Law of the KU Leuven (BE) for one semester.
Stations of work: Andrea is currently working as a research assistant at the Institute of Biomedical Ethics (IBMB) of the University of Basel. He is working on an SNF funded project concerning the implementation of smarter healthcare by promoting the acquisition, analysis and sharing of medical data. Prior to that, he collaborated with the research project “Biolaw Project – Progetto Biodiritto” by the University of Trento.
