Curriculum Vitae of Maddalena Favaretto

Expertise/Research field:
With a background in Philosophy, Maddalena Favaretto is a PhD candidate at the Institute for Biomedical Ethics at the University of Basel, Switzerland. After graduating in Philosophical Sciences (Master of Arts, 2016), she spent a semester as a visiting scholar at the Center for Biomedical Ethics and Law at KU Leuven (Belgium), where she started developing her research skills in Bioethics. There she worked on a few projects ranging from the epistemic value and ethical significance of three-dimensional prenatal ultrasound scanning, the ethics of prenatal genetic testing, to a qualitative study on media coverage of human-pig chimera experiments. Maddalena is currently working on the SNF founded project on Big Data Research Ethics.
