Scientific honours, awards or prizes

  • 2001: Award of the Belgian Society for Gerontology and Geriatrics 2001 for the best poster presentation at the annual meeting.

  • 1999-2001: Award of the Dean and Scientific award of the Bank of Breda, for the best Master’s thesis in Gerontology for the academic years 1999-2000 and 2000-2001.

  • 2011; 2016:, Certificate in recognition of the excellent contribution to the review process, awarded by the journal ‘Human Reproduction’ to the top 10% of the journal’s reviewers.

  • 2014: Sara Somers, researcher of the GOA research group on parenthood, that I coordinate, won the ESHRE Nurses Award 2014 at the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) Annual Meeting, held in Munich (29 June - 2 July). She presented her upcoming paper: Somers S, Provoost V, Van Parys H, Buysse A, De Sutter P, Pennings G. Family decision making: a qualitative study in lesbian couples after donor conception.

  • 2016: Sara Somers, researcher of the GOA research group on parenthood, that I coordinate, won the ESHRE Nurses Award 2016 at the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) Annual Meeting, held in Helsinki (3 - 6 July).
