Biobanking and Data Sharing

Biological samples, such as tissues, blood, DNA, and cells are an increasingly important resource for advancing research on human diseases and their physiological causes.

Samples and data are stored for this purpose but their sharing is cause to concerns. Currently our institute dedicates two projects to this issue:

Banking together: sharing biological samples among Swiss researchers (Flora Colledge)

Ethical, Legal, Social and Practical Barriers to Sharing Between Biobanks in Europe (Heidi C. Howard)
