Symposium on the Ethical Challenges of AI in Medicine

Artificial intelligence (AI) in medicine has great potential to improve diagnostics, decision-making and treatment. AI will therefore play an important role in future medicine. The use of AI systems already poses a number of ethical questions and challenges for healthcare professionals: Under what conditions can, may and should healthcare professionals trust AI systems? How do AI systems affect the self-determination of healthcare professionals and patients? Who takes responsibility for incorrect decisions made by AI systems or serious damage to health? How can data protection and data security be guaranteed?
In this symposium, we will take a close look at the ethical challenges of using AI in medical care. In particular, we will examine the question of how healthcare professionals can deal with AI applications in an ethically appropriate manner today and in the future.
